Bible 101 - Leviticus / Hebrews - Hebrews Outline

Provided by Phyllis Gilbert

Hebrews was a letter written to convince first century Jews (Christian and otherwise) that Jesus was indeed the Messiah and that faith in his death and resurrection was the only way to God. It speaks to us today in the same way: Jesus is the mediator between God and man.

Part 1: The superiority of Christ

Christ is greater than the angels (ch. 1-2)
Christ is greater than Moses (ch. 3- ch. 4:13)
Christ is greater than the Old Testament priesthood (ch. 4:14- ch. 7:26)
The new covenant is greater than the old (ch. 8- ch. 10:18)

Part 2: The superiority of faith

A call to remain faithful to Christ (ch. 10:19-39)
The hall of fame of the faithful (ch. 11)
Christ's sacrifice inspires us to remain faithful (ch. 12)
Various teachings to live the faith (ch. 13)
