World AIDS Day Quilting Project
On August 15 a quilt section was presented to the congregation to decorate. This Vestry-approved project is an opportunity for congregations to work together to create a permanent remembrance of those lost to AIDS. On December 1 a memorial service celebrated by Bishop Mathes will be held at Trinity Episcopal Church in Escondido where the panels will be blessed and sent to Atlanta to become part of the larger quilt. See http://www.aidsquilt.org for more details. Judy Cater is the project coordinator for Holy Cross.

Wounded Warrors
Two trips to the new Wounded Warrior barracks at Camp Pendleton are scheduled for September 2nd and 22nd. These are morning visits featuring fresh fruit, low fat yogurt, granola bars and water. With warmer weather, we'll see about serving some of these healthy snacks outside on the new deck where the Marines congregate late morning. Call Tom Mauro or Arlene Cull to make arrangements to join in the visits. We usually leave Carlsbad about 9:45 or 10:00 A.M.
